The National Association of Seadogs, (NAS), also known as pyrates confraternity has donated food items to flood victims in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo.

Mr. Kadiri Erumiseli, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obaseki on Local Government Affairs, Etsako Central received the food items which includes; Bags of rice, Bags of beans, Bags of garri, Packs of Noodles, toiletries, Beverages amongst other on behalf of the victims.

Mr Dirisu Odion, the Capoon Hybrid Deck, Edo North branch who presented the food items to the victims said it Is part of the association humanitarian service to assist rural communities to meet their needs.

Mr. Odion reiterated the commitment of the pyrates confratenity to put smiles on the faces of the communities affected by the flood.

He said the Pyrates confranternity is always the first to give helping hands whenever the communities needs it.

“It is part of our humanistic idea that when there is need in any community we try to assist, we give out charitable supports to communities who lack basic amenities.

“We are here to give support to those who have been displaced by flood and here we are to donate our widows mind, we are appealing that this things we have donated will get to those that were affected by the flood,” he said.

Odion, however, urged governments, cooporate organisations and well meaning Nigerians to come to the aids of less privileged by assisting in providing humanitarian service to them.

“Our advise is that they should come and donate their widows mind, we can’t do it alone, we are non governmental organisation trying to help.

“We appeal to other charitable organisations, governments, Federal, state, local government to come to their aids to ameliorate the suffering of the affected victims of flood disasters and Internally Displaced Persons in the their domain.

In his response, the SSA to Gov Obaseki who received the items on behalf of the government thanked the association and promised to ensure that the items gets to the affected victims.

“Let me first of all appreciate and thanked the pyrate confraternity for this items, this is not the first time of receiving items on behalf of the internally displaced persons.

“In several occasions governments and other well meaning Nigerians have brought relief materials to help the people and all the items are shared among the various 13 communities that are affected by the flood.

“This items are judiciously share and we also put apparatus in place to checkmate anything they take away to the 13 communities affected by the flood.

“I have eyes in the various communities that go round to ensure that this items are judiciously share among the affected people

“I want to say thank you to seadogs and you know government cannot do it alone,

“We need people like this to come and also support what the government is doing. I believe the governor will hear and see it from my report,” Erumiseli said.
