BENIN CITY – The Edo State Civil/Public Servants has been described as Thought Leaders who are in a sufficient position to positively influence the perception of people and make them understand the enormous achievements of the present Edo State government led by Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

This position was made yesterday at the New Festival Hall, Benin City by the Head of Service, Barr. Anthony Okungbowa during the EDSG Thought Leadership Series; with the THEME: “Driving Investments To Build The Edo Of Our Dream – The Civil/Public Service Mandate”.

The Head of Service, who led several other Heads of Ministries; MDAs and Permanent Secretaries, in an interaction, emphasised that the Edo State Government in the last seven years, has achieved a lot in the area of physical infrastructure, Health, social welfare and conducive working environments, security and e-transportation and many more, which the civil and public servants need to communicate in order to change peoples’ behaviour and perception towards the State Government

He described the service as the credible source that must carry the most beneficial true knowledge of the intention of Governor Godwin Obaseki and consistently take it to the public space.

The Head of Service said that there are a lot of policy agenda options like the “State Government investing directly in the Housing sector to benefit the Civil Servants, but will be communicated when the matter is executively concretised and the rules become extant”.

He explained that although the Edo State egov policy is a work in progress, all the Civil Servants in the State will be digitally literate and effectively functional in that regard by the end of 2023.

Barr. Okungbowa however explained that the genuine concerns from Pensions and EDOHIS will be appropriately attended to.

He explain that the Edo State Government is presently considering 13-month salary and urged the “Changed Agents” to take the numerous physical and system achievements of the Edo State Government to the public space as the Governor Godwin Obaseki has successfully taken the Civil Service away from the regular Transactional Service and has reinforced it in the Strategic Mode.
