Bendel Insurance showed strength and character as they came from behind to shock Rangers International 2-1 in their third and last game of the NPFL-Dozzy Super Cup preseason tournament at the Onikan Stadium.

Dede muoghara with his trademark freekick within the two minutes added time, cancelled Elijah Ani’s 25th minute lead goal for Rangers to restore Insurance confidence shortly before the recess whistle. Divine Nwachukwu had been harshly brought down by Rangers defenders in their vital area,and were punished.

The resurgent Insurance FC came out of their shells in the second half and took the battle to the gate of the flying Antelope with more purposeful attacking play which paid off when Deputy Echeta mounted pressure on the right back of the Enugu team,winning a penalty that resulted from a handball and tripping of Deputy Echeta in the box. Benjamin Tanimu stepped forward to neatly slot in the winning goal in the 66th minute

The hard earned victory placed the Benin Arsenal in the third place with three points, while the Flying Antelopes finished fourth with just a point.

Insurance began the invitational preseason tournament with a scandalous 3-0 loss before losing their second game 4-3 to Enyimba FC .

Meanwhile,Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Enyimba FC of Aba settled for a goalless draw earlier in the day.

The barren draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, earned both sides the final slots of the money spinning pre season tournament.

The final battle for N100M between Enyimba and Shooting Stars comes at 4PM tomorrow(Friday)at the Onikan Stadium.

Beside the N100M top Prize,there are also individual awards for grabs as the highest goal scorer gets golden boot and the sum of one Million Naira while the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) will smile home with same one Million Naira.
