The Edo State Sports Commission has organised a one-day seminar for its staff towards the realisation of the state government’s programme Making Edo Great Again (MEGA). According to the state’s commission, the attainment of the programme is achievable in all sectors.
The seminar which took place at the media centre of the sports commission was attended by all categories of staff currently working at the commission.
In her opening remarks, the resource person at the seminar, Amina Abhulimhem said the session has become expedient to make the MEGA programme of government to be more sophisticated in order to change the narrative of how the civil or public service is being run in the past to a more modern approach.
She stated further that government has done a lot to create a better work environment for its workforce, adding that in achieving the new MEGA order, every worker must make themselves available in order not to be left behind.
Reminding the staff that the commission has a vision and mission to reposition the state as a foremost sporting destination in Nigeria and beyond, Abhulimhem reiterated that to attain excellent and positively impact in the lives of Edo people through sports participation, development and business, all hands must be on deck to unveil the new Edo sports commission that will drive the process
According to her, “In achieving the new vision, each worker will be appraised through the new e-appraisal system of government which is going to centre on the core values of patriotism, accountability, professionalism, innovation, leadership, excellent and team spirit”
Abhulimhem then charged the workers to up their game so that they will not be caught napping in the new scheme of things in the state as you cannot give what you don’t have.
