After a long wait, determined and enthusiastic voters heaved a sigh of relief on Sunday when election materials arrived at exactly 2:30pm at Unit 3, 4 & 5 Ward 9 in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Election could not hold in parts of Delta State on Saturday and was postponed to today (Sunday).

Voters chanted, “We want to vote now!” when they saw the INEC officials arrive at Igbudu Primary School in Warri.

The voters had peacefully organised themselves by queuing up before the arrival of the INEC officials as they set to cast their votes for their choice candidates.

INEC officials arrived at about 3pm in Ward 11, Unit 01, as voters waited to see if they would be allowed to cast their votes.

Election materials arrived Ward 4 in Warri at about 2:30pm, with voters waiting to cast their votes.

According to Bukola Ojeme, Acting Head, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, Delta State, elections would take place in the following wards/Polling Units today (Sunday) in Warri South Local Government Area.

1. (RA01) 008; 009; 012; 015.
2. (RA 04) 30 (All PUs)
3. (RA05) 005; 009; 010; 011; 015; 028; 029.
4. (RA06) 016.
5. (RA07) 25 (All PUs)
6. (RA09) PU 46 (All PUs)
7. (RA011) 005; 006; 007; 011; 012; 013; 027.

In Bowen ward 1, as at 3:40pm, voters were still expecting the arrival of INEC staff and election materials. Voters were seen waiting anxiously while discussing in groups.
