President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment of Duke Okoro as pioneer rector, Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The new polytechnic is designed to provide full-time and part-time courses and training in different fields of study.
Okoro holds a PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the University of Benin.
The new rector is a former director of international development at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.
He is also a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN); Fellow Nigerian Environmental Society (FNES); Fellow of Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON) and Fellow Institute of Management Consultant (FIMC). He also holds other certifications from prestigious international bodies.
