Honourable Florence Gbinigie, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Edo State, has called for peaceful and credible exercise by all stakeholders while voting for the candidates of their choices on Saturday.

Gbinigie who is the President of Forum of Nigeria Women in Politics, FONWIP, said in a statement that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, political parties and voters should ensure that the election is peaceful and credible, free from every form of malpractices.

“I appeal to all voters particularly women to come out to participate in the exercise by voting for the candidates of their choices and at the same time, support the female candidates irrespective of the political party they belong.

“Do not sell your votes nor allow anyone to lure or intimidate you to vote for any particular candidate. Vote your conscience towards credible leadership and be mindful of the electoral processes which you must follow diligently to the end according to the electoral law.

” Ensure your votes count and results announced at your voting unit/center, and posted before leaving. I pray God grant Nigeria successful and peaceful election process towards a transition for the emergence of a new phase of leadership in government. Amen”, she noted.
