As Premier league clubs prepare to slug it out in Week seven fixtures of the Nigeria Premier Football League, President of the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), Otunba Tade Azeez, has admonished the referees on duty this weekend to be mindful of the decisions they take in the course of officiating.

President Tade gave the advise as the appointment committee released the names of officials that will be on duty on Saturday and Sunday.

The release by Kelechi Mejuobi, National Publicity Secretary of Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), made available to ObserverSports, reveals that the NRA president who noted that the association is also reviewing performances of the members, reiterated that nothing other than decisions that are in line with the 17 Laws of the Game shall be tolerated as those found wanting risk sanctions.

Otunba Tade Azeez acknowledged receipt of reports on latest decisions of the NFF Referees Committee on some referees under scrutiny for various breaches of the laws of the game during their games in both the premier league and women league.

In one of the battles of this weekend scheduled for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, involving home side, Shooting Stars and visiting Bendel Insurance of Benin, FIFA referee from Bauchi State Referees Council, Nurudeen Abubakar will lead the refereeing team to be assessed by a retired International referee and FIFA/CAF Trained Physical Fitness Instructor, Stella Eloji.

Interestingly, two newly promoted referees Adanlawo Ayomide and Adejo Noah of Ondo and Kaduna state councils respectively, will receive their baptism of fire as centre referees in the premier league. While Adanlawo will be in charge of Abia vs Wikki where an Anglican Priest, Ven Mike Osayi is the Assessor, Adejo is the referee for the Sunshine vs Tornadoes that has Chairman of Osun Council, Latunde Gbenga as the Assessor.
