The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned one Ali Bello, a nephew of Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, for alleged fraud.

Bello was docked alongside Abba Adauda, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, Iyada Sadat, and Rashida Bello (at large).

They were arraigned before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court in Abuja on 18-count charge bordering on criminal misappropriation and money laundering to the tune of N3,081,804,654.

The court directed that they remain in prison custody pending the fulfilment of their bail conditions.

In December 2022, a Federal High Court presided over by Justice James Kolawole Omotosho had remanded Bello and his co-defendant, Dauda Sulaiman, in prison over allegation of misappropriation and money laundering to the tune of N10.3 billion.
