…The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points and ended a four-match losing streak.

Nigeria exacted revenge on Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with a 1-0 win in Bissau on Monday, Daily Post reports.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria had suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to the Djurtus just last Friday.

The Super Eagles travelled to Bissau to take on Guinea-Bissau in the second leg of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

It was a make-or-mar game for Nigeria, as they were desperate to redeem themselves and return to the summit of group A after losing the first leg 1-0 in Abuja.

However, Moses Simon’s first penalty was enough for Jose Peseiro’s men to win the reverse fixture.

The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points. They now have two more than Guinea-Bissau.

It also ended a four-match losing streak for the three-time African champions.

Sierra Leone occupy third place with five points, while Sao Tome and Principe have just one point.
