ASABA: The senator-elect for Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Ede Dafinone, has expressed his appreciation to God and the people of Delta Central for their overwhelming support that led to his victory at the senatorial election.
Chief Dafinone, a chartered accountant and business mogul, ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and polled 109,197 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator Ighoyota Amori of the PDP who scored 101,385 votes.

Speaking in Sapele, Chief Dafinone promised to be a senator of the entire people of Delta Central, irrespective of political inclination, or ethnicity, adding that his victory would usher in people-oriented representation in the Senate.

He lauded APC leaders, members of the Ede Dafinone Campaign Organisation and party faithful for their unflinching support during and after the election by standing up to defend the votes freely cast for APC and ensuring that the votes counted.

“I want to thank God who made this victory possible and also appreciate our party leaders, party faithful, our campaign team, community leaders, support groups and everyone who made this historic day a reality.

“I am deeply touched and overwhelmed by your support and I want to assure you that I am going to work round the clock and sure that your concerns are considered in the Senate.
