Ikpoba/Okha Local Government Area of Edo State has the highest number of permanent voter cards(PVCs) collected in the state as political parties make last-minute push towards emerging victorious on Saturday, 11 March 2023 when the state House of Assembly election is held across the country.

It should be noted that there is no governorship election in Edo State. However, registered political parties will slug it out among themselves to win seats at the state House of Assembly. The prominent political parties in the state are the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Labour Party.

Based on the feedback provided by The Nigerian Observer’s correspondents across the state, the ruling PDP stands a better chance of controlling the state’s house of assembly in the next political dispensation. This is as a result of the ongoing transformation of the state educationally, infrastructure wise and economically.

According to the PVCs collected by each local government area in Edo State, Ikpoba/Okha Local Government Area of Edo State has 303, 922 PVCs, making it the LGA with the highest number of PVCs collected in the state.

Oredo LGA has 265,895 PVCs and ranked as the second highest in terms of the number of PVCs collected in the state. The third highest LGA is Egor where residents collected 195,583 PVCs.
