Real Madrid has reached a verbal agreement with Karim Benzema over contract renewal that will ensure his stay at Santiago Bernabeu till 2024.

The forward’s existing deal expires at the end of the season and even after winning the Ballon d’Or, there were initially some doubts over the continuity of Benzema at Real Madrid due to his constant injury issues throughout the season.

A report from L’Equipe indicates Benzema had met Florentino Perez a few days ago.

They reached an agreement over a renewal until 2024. Although the contract has not been made official yet, it will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Benzema’s renewal could be a major milestone for Real Madrid, as they brace themselves for a tricky phase of the campaign.

One player whose current deal is set to expire in the summer is Karim Benzema. The current Ballon d’Or holder has been the face of the team ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left in 2018 to join Juventus.

He has played his role perfectly as well. Benzema had his career-best season last time around, guiding Real Madrid to a Champions League and La Liga double.

And despite being 35 years of age, it looks like he is set to extend his stay with the club. As reported by L’Equipe and as tweeted by Transfer News Live.
