Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reflected on an important win over Real Betis at Old Trafford.

Manchester United took a giant step into reaching the quarter-finals of the 2022/2023 UEFA Europa League, following a commanding 4-1 victory over Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis in their round-of-16 first-leg tie at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils in their Europa League match with Spanish team Real Batis on Thursday night recorded yet another defeat since their loss to Liverpool in the English Premier League.
The Reds exhibited a show filled with energy and great synergy as Rashford opens the goals with a stunning strike to the back of the net.

The in-form forward added to his tally for the season to open the scoring for United in the first half.

Real Betis managed to pull one back before the breaking, leaving United with everything to do in the second half if they were to go into the second leg with any advantage.

“It’s a step in the right direction,” Rashford told BT Sport.

Rashford also opened up on what Weghorst’s goal means for the group in his post-match interview.

The Red Devils took the second half by storm as Brazilian attacker Antony and Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes both struck within six minutes (52nd and 58th) to give the hosts some breathing space before Dutchman Wout Weghorst grabbed the fourth to put the icing on the cake for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Wout Weghourst’s goal came in the second half of the game, after so many failed attempts by the Dutch player.
