Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the immediate past chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers and Obi of Owa Kingdom,​ Emmanuel Efeizomor II, on his 85th birthday anniversary.

The governor described the revered monarch as “a renowned traditional ruler and a man of peace and honour, with over six decades of outstanding leadership”.

He stated that Obi Efeizomor had remained a leading light, role model and custodian of the culture and traditions of Owa people, and had over the years contributed immensely to the growth and development of the kingdom and Delta State.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you, Your Royal Majesty, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor, OON, Obi of Owa Kingdom, on your 85th birth anniversary,” Okowa said in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba.

“As a government, we have enjoyed your invaluable support in many aspects, and it is my belief that as you have institutionalised and modeled it, your domain will continue to be a citadel of peace and unity.

“Your reign, which began 63 yesrs ago, has recorded tremendous transformation in terms of infrastructure and human capital development in Owa Kingdom.

“As immediate past Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, you have remained a peace builder, a beacon of light and a symbol of humility and excellence in leadership.

“And, as a government we appreciate your counseling at all times, and all you and your colleagues are doing in your various kingdoms to make governance easy in the state.

“I thank you profoundly for your contributions toward the attainment of the Stronger Delta vision of our administration,” Okowa stated.

He prayed God to bless the monarch with longer life and wisdom to enable him to continue with his service to the kingdom, Delta State and humanity.
