A pan-African organisation, NBM of Africa, Uhun-Ogbeini Chapter in Benin City, has formally handed over an ultra-modern block of two offices built by it to the Ikpoba Hill Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

The project, which is sited at the city centre in Edo, is aimed at complimenting the police in the areas of combating crime and providing security for the people.

It is part of the organisation’s philanthropic gestures to humanity as well as its contribution to achieving a crime-free society.

Olorogun Ese Kakor, National President of the organisation, said the multi-million-naira project is in line with NBM’s objectives towards promoting an egalitarian society, hence the construction to assist the command with conducive working environment.

“The project is part of nation-building, which we cannot leave alone in the hands of federal government; and we deemed it fit to extend the good gesture by providing comfort for the (Ikpoba Hill) area command,” Kakor said in his remarks.

Responding, the Ikpoba Hill Area Commander, ACP Oni Adebowale, expressed appreciation to the organization. He explained that before the new office building, the area command’s office was carved out of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) office in the Division, which, according to him, was demarcated with wood.

“Whatever one contributes to the police anywhere goes ahead to boost policing in Nigeria, no doubt about that,” Adebowale said.

“We can’t go out, make arrests and come stay under canopy, your mind will not be on the job, but when you have a comfortable place to sit and take decision, you will take good decision.

“That’s the reason why we appreciate the support of this group because we need it,” the area commander remarked.
