The chairman, Senate Committee on Services, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure a balance between Nigeria’s two major religions while zoning leadership positions in the National Assembly.

The senator, who is also eyeing the coveted seat of the Senate President, made the appeal while fielding questions from National Assembly correspondents in Abuja.

Musa said that Nigerians need a servant-leader who will be able to speak on their behalf in the National Assembly, especially now that the nation is bedevilled with a lot of challenges threatening its existence.

He said he is qualified for the position of Senate President but could sacrifice his ambition in the interest of unity and peaceful coexistence of Nigeria if not zoned to the North-Central and would rather seek the position of the Deputy Senate President.

He said it has become imperative to have a leader who feels the pulse of Nigerians and has the requisite experience to make laws that will benefit the citizens.

“I am ready to serve and that is why I will be contesting for a principal position in the 10th Senate,” he said.
