……. CAF congratulates Flying Eagles after win over Tunisia, as well as rains praise on Nigerian youngster, Sunday Jude, after winning the U-20 AFCON Man of the Match award.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) praised the Flying Eagles of Nigeria following their 4-0 triumph over Tunisia to win the Bronze Medal at 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

Ibrahim Muhammad scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute and Ahmed Abdullahi made it 2-0 in the 46th minute.

Jude Sunday scored a brace to seal the victory for the Nigerian team.

This is Nigeria’s third time winning the bronze medal at the tournament.

CAF celebrated the Nigerian U-20 team on Twitter:

“NIGERIA ACHIEVE A PODIUM FINISH. The Flying Eagles are the #TotakEnergiesAFCONU20 bronze medalists for the third time,” the Tweet reads

CAF also heaped praise on Nigerian’s Flying Eagles star, Sunday Jude, after scoring a brace in their remarkable 4-0 victory over Tunisia Under 20 National team.

The youngster was given a starting role by coach Ladan Bosso, following his distinguished performance for the club in their previous matches, and he was able to impress again, as he scored a brace against their opponents.

Jude Sunday started in his team’s attack alongside Ahmed Abdullahi and Ibrahim Muhammad and the trio was outstanding in the entertaining encounter.

Jude Sunday was amazing throughout the entire duration of the game and he was able to mark his outstanding performance with a brace.

The youngster’s excellent performance has now helped him to win the Man of the Match award after the end of the game.

Responding after Jude Sunday scored a brace to win the Man of the Match award, CAF posted on their verified Twitter handle that:

The 2023 AFCON U-20 final match will be between Senegal and Gambia on Saturday, March 9 at the Cairo International Stadium.

All four semi-finalists qualified for the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup which will take place in Indonesia between May 20 and June 11.
