Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will fly directly to Algeria on Sunday ahead of the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took the decision after a planned trip to Europe was called off at the last minute and so the team will now travel directly to Algeria.

According to SCORENigeria, 26 players made the final squad to the U17 AFCON.

It was revealed that the MRI age test disqualified almost the midfield of the team who topped the WAFU qualifiers last year in Ghana.

Algeria will host the competition from April 29 to May 19.

The Golden Eaglets are drawn in a first round group that has South Africa, Zambia and Morocco.

They open their campaign in Constantine, Algeria, on Sunday, April 30 against their Group B opponents Zambia.

The top four teams at this tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
