An Insurance Magnate, Sir. Dr. Bibowei Braie, JP, has been re-elected un-opposed as state President of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Edo State Council for his outstanding performances during his three years tenure.

The state office bearers election which was well attended by all battalion and group council representatives, was conducted by the National Secretary, Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Adamu Sunday Malgwi, who was represented by the National Treasurer, Dr. (Mrs.) Blessing Emuze, in Benin City.

Other members of the new Executive of the Edo Council include: Hon. Justice (Mrs.) Efe Ikponmwoba KSM, Legal Adviser, Mrs. Onibere, Vice President Edo South, Mrs. F.F Okuo, Vice President Edo North, Vice President, Edo Central, Vacant, ASSO, Mr. Paul Onojorhovwo, Mr. Edmund Okoli (Patron) Treasurer, Mr. David Olayeriju, Financial Secretary, Mr. Joseph Uhi, PRO I, Mr. Nicholas Oaikhena, PRO2 and Mr. Goodluck Osoba, Auditor

Meanwhile an appeal has been made to officers, Patrons and Patronesses of the Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria, Edo State Council to be good ambassadors and role model to help youths develop leadership potentials in the society

Revd. Canon (Dr.) Isaiah Jibike who made the appeal during a breakfast meeting of state Patrons and Patronesses with the state Excos in Benin City at the weekend said the Boys’ Brigade, one of the oldest organizations in the world stands on two pillars, religion and discipline.

“Boys’ Brigade will be 140 years old in the world in October this year and sixteen years in Edo State promoting the advancement of Christ Kingdom, discipline, self respect and all that tend towards true Christian character.

“As Patrons and Patronesses, you have a role to play to ensure discipline of the youths and you need to exemplify Jesus Christ through righteousness, truthfulness, discipline,” the clergy noted.

In his opening remarks during the breakfast meeting which is the first formal get together with Patrons and Patronesses, the state President, Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Edo State Council, Sir. Amb Bibowei Braie disclosed that the well being of our youths need to be managed due to the level of decadence of leadership values in the society today.

A former Chief Judge in Edo State, Hon Justice Esohe Frances Ikponmwen, said she is proud to be a Patroness of the Boy’s Brigade which focuses on bringing up the younger ones in the society in the fear of the lord because Jesus Christ is the answer to all questions.

“Let us engage them to follow the good examples set by Jesus Christ by playing our roles as Patrons and Patronesses,” her lordship added.
