There seems to be no hiding place for minority leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa as a Kano High court gives approval for an exparte motion seeking leave to mandate Kano State Attorney General, Musa Abdullahi Lawan, to file murder charges against him.

The High Court granted the Order of Mandamus that will compel the Attorney General to prosecute the federal lawmaker for alleged culpable homicide and burning of properties at Tudunwada Local Government Area in Nigeria’s February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.

In her ruling on the exparte order on Thursday, Justice Maryam Sabo compelled Attorney General to exercise his power under section 211 of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) to immediately file a charge against Doguwa.

Doguwa and his conspirators will face the law for the offences of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, mischief, incitement of public disturbance and possession of firearms before a court of competent jurisdiction.”

The Kano State Attorney General in a reaction said he will go ahead to prosecute the matter as soon as the case file is returned to the Ministry of Justice.
