It’s an understatement to say that fashion week season is an exciting time for both designers and models; it has become one of the most vibrant events that the industry has universally accepted. Only creative minds can keep up with the changing trends in fashion and style and create something that fits the age and time.

Undoubtedly, Nigeria’s fashion sector is burgeoning as it is enjoying an unprecedented level of exposure that presents designers with unique opportunities. Just like fashion events such as the Lagos Fashion Week, the Campus Models Carnival held recently at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City helped to boost creativity and awareness about fashion as well as created the enabling environment for entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity.

The event which took place on the 25th and 26th of March saw outstanding brands like Ik Even Signature, Oboi Ride, OTC, Elder Exchange, Ajebo Autos, Glitch Paint Ball, Zzone Foods, Top Leader Clothing and Prodegy put down their money as financial partners.

For any fashion event, it is paramount that models are meticulously chosen as they are the faces and bodies that bring clothing designs to life, making them more appealing and desirable. Unarguably, the 40 stunning models at the campus models festival made a statement on the runway by imprinting a lasting significance on pieces of clothing.

Also, the upbeat music, warm lighting, beautiful decorations, audience seating and the overall feel of the venue made the event a blast.

The audience was thrilled with outstanding performances from top talented and renowned Nigerian entertainers like the singer, rapper and songwriter, Khaid; popular MC/compere, stand-up comedian, content creator and skit maker, Hon Madiba; Porkupyne; ABAYOMI Diamond, Abigail with the Vibes, and much more.

The incredible creativity of the team members such as ODM, Foma, Chibbi, Labeled Comis, Creative Ice, Eden Living, Event by Nia, Ria, GMA, Star Films, Party Plug, Starfilmz, AMA Models, Kreasom, Zaviano and House of Eden made the Campus Models Carnival such an experience.

The young and talented event planner and model manager believes that the Campus Models Carnival is not just an event but a celebration of campus models – a celebration of the creatives surrounding the campus.
