Davido’s new album, ‘Timeless’, has set a new record for African music and afrobeat on the Apple music US albums chart with barely 24 hours of tracking.
‘Timeless’ which was released in the early hours of Friday, March 31st 2023, now holds the record for the highest position on the Apple Music Top albums chart for US at number 2.
The record was previously held by Wizkid with his album ‘More Love Less Ego’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Love Damini’ at number 4 on the chart, Notjustok reports.
Meanwhile, Nigerian ace singer, songwriter, and performer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has commented on Davido’s latest album ‘Timeless’.
Davido, who finally released his highly anticipated studio album titled ‘Timeless’, with guest appearances from the likes of Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, Musa Keys, Focalistic, FAVE, The Cavemen, Dexta Daps, and the newly signed artists on his rebranded DMW 2.0 imprint; Logos Olori and Morravey, is already shattering records with the 17-track body of work.
Recall that Wizkid, who earlier in the year made it known that he will be going on a joint tour with DMW frontline act and singer Davido after his “More Love, Less Ego” tour, has surprised the fans again by giving his colleague a shout-out for his recently released album.
