Nigerian music producer, and singer, Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy, has urged Nigerian artists to emulate Davido’s format in promoting his projects.

Davido has been on a media tour for his newly released fourth studio album ‘Timeless’ in the United States. While lauding the singer’s advertising scheme for his latest album, Don Jazzy advised other Nigerian actors to emulate him.

Don Jazzy said Davido didn’t sit back because he was already an established artist, instead, he is promoting his album vigorously.

In a tweet on Monday, Don Jazzy wrote: “Dear artists, I hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO(rich kid), so everybody will cop my shit. Marketing the beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag.”

Reacting to his tweets, Abiola Darnyy agreed with Jazzy’s submission and added that every creative should emulate Davido.

He said: “Not just artists, every creative in general needs to know how to market their products or brand. Marketing is the key to a successful brand or business. Please put yourself out there no matter your standards.”

On his part, Ayomide Oyedele believes that the extent of publicity given by Davido to his new album is a sign that the project is not up to the required standard, because good projects will market themselves.

“Why do I think Davido shouldn’t have been marketing this album as he is doing now if the album was enough to market itself?” Oyedele queried.
