…urges rededication to quality service delivery to Edo people

The Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., has felicitated Muslims in the state’s civil and public service on the celebration of Eid el-Fitr after the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

Okungbowa, in a statement, urged the Muslim faithful to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and sacrifice as ordained by Allah (SWT) by rededicating themselves to delivering quality service to the people of Edo State.

“As Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast, I celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Edo Civil/Public Service on the successful completion of the spiritual exercise,” Okungbowa said.

“As one of the pillars of Islam, the observance of Ramadan is significant to Muslims across the world as it teaches abstinence from worldly pleasures, self-denial, steadfastness in prayers/service to humanity, and total submission to the will of Allah in accordance with Quranic injunctions.

“I hold the strong belief that the noble spiritual growth and development which the month-long fasting promotes are veritable attributes of a progressive and result-oriented public servant,” he said.

The Head of Service urged Civil/Public Servants in the State to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and sacrifice as ordained by Allah (SWT) by rededicating themselves to delivering quality service to the people of the State in continuing with efforts of the Governor at revolutionizing the public service and strengthening its workforce both in quality and quantity.

“I thank all Civil/Public Servants for believing in the transformation programme in the Edo State Civil/Public Service and for their commitment to their duties. We thank God for sparing our lives to witness and celebrate the Year 2023 Eid-el-Fitri. Happy Eid-el Fitri,” he said.
