In a press statement signed by Gabriel Odu, NIDCOM Media, Public Relations and Protocols, this arrangement is coming on the heels of the escalation of hostilities between the Sudanese Army and the Paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces (RSF), adding that Hon. The statement quoted Abike Dabiri as saying that the commission has received the letter of solicitation by the National Association of Nigerian Students in Sudan for possible evacuation of students especially those in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital, and assuring that the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) which is in charge of emergency evacuations, is consulting with the Nigerian mission in Sudan and other relevant agencies.

Abike Dabiri, therefore, urged all Nigerian students in Sudan as well as Nigerians living in Sudan to be security conscious and calm.
