The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has charged students of Judeen International School to join the fight against economic and financial crimes to secure their future and that of the country.
Bawa who spoke through ACE II Zainab Sani Ahmed, Head of Public Affairs, Kaduna Zonal Command, at the inauguration of the EFCC Integrity Club in the school, reminded them that the country’s future lies in their hands.
He urged them to be honest and work hard, adding that integrity is the greatest virtue that can help them achieve their dreams. He further said that the commission was inviting them to join the Integrity Club to lend a hand in helping to build a better society where there is respect for law and order, and the right things are always done.
ASE I, Prince Okorie, a staff of Kaduna Zonal Command while also enlightening the students on the work of EFCC, encouraged them to shun all forms of corrupt practices especially exam malpractice, internet fraud or any other form of corruption, which could jeopardize their future.
Responding, the lead teacher of the School, Danjuma Olukoya, and the Leader of Forum for Cities in Transition, Ishaq Felix, thanked the commission for the good work it has been carrying out and appreciated the executive chairman for catching them young as it is the right way to fight corruption.
Meanwhile, the Ibadan Zonal Command of EFCC yesterday, said its operatives arrested forty-four (44) suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In a message on its Twitter handle, the commission said the suspects were arrested at Apete and Bodija areas of Ibadan following intelligence information on their fraudulent cyber activities.
The alleged cybercriminals are Aparimo Ogunfunminiyi Ojoola, Olalekan Taoreed Miller, Olamide Animashaun Ademola, Rotimi Samson, Waheed Abeeb Olamilekan, Jelili Abeeb Afolabi, Olamide Azeez Ayinla, Mohammed Lawal Segun, Peter Seyi Iyanuoluwa, Akinmoju Kolawole, Ibrahim Akande Abiodun, John Oluwatimilehin Moses, Oshunrinade Samuel, Moradeyo Abeeb Abiodun, Ogunmola Oluwabori Michael, Aderomu Gbenga Michael, Akinrinola Pelumi Sunday, Adeola Tunji, Opaniyi Yakubu Olasunkanmi, Oyedele Israel Sunday, Fiyin Adebayo Omotosho, Oladele Oladimeji John, Gbolahan Qudus and Lawal Muiz Gbolahan.
Others are Alonge Timilehin Israel, Akinlade Tolulope Seyi, Taiwo Oluwatobiloba Daniel, Adesina Sodiq Ishola, Victor Paul Shedrack, Olawale Oladapo Olaleye, Muili Olamilekan Sodiq, Babalola Afeez Bolaji, Adeagbo Stephen Adegbenro, Ephraim Isaiah Joshua, Olanrewaju Muhammed Opeyemi, Dada Segun David, Okikiola Oluwateniola, Ayodele Victor Ayodeji, Oluwadamilare Isaiah Olanrewaju, Akande Afeez Gbolahan, Omotolani Samson Gbenga, Odesanya Michael Adedimeji, Akindele Timothy Olatunde, and Farayola Habeeb.
Items recovered from them include ten exotic cars, two motorcycles, fifty-three (53) mobile phones, four laptops, one JBL speaker, and one PS game with two pads, among others. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
