Members of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPLD), Ika South Chapter, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for always ensuring their welfare.

Comrade Friday Ogorchukwu (Leader of the association) gave the commendation in a chat with newsmen in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

“We want to deeply appreciate Governor Okowa for ensuring that we remain relevant in life through the monthly stipends and other welfare packages for us,” he stated.

According to him, “despite his busy schedules, Governor Okowa always ensures that we are taken care of. That is why we will continue to support and pray for him.”

Comrade Ogorchukwu disclosed the Okowa led administration had empowered many persons living with disabilities which had made them useful, and not liabilities to their families and the society.

“You may have noticed that our members are no longer constituting nuisance in the locality. Any beggar you see in the street of Agbor must be from other states,” he opined.

“Governor Okowa is not only concerned about our welfare, but also giving us monthly stipends. The gesture has kept us going.

“We are indeed grateful to Governor Okowa for his love for us,” he stated.

They also appreciated Wisdom Okowa who, according to them, had been the anchor of the scheme through which they had continue to benefit from the state government.
