Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has felicitated with Muslims in Nigeria, particularly those in Edo, on this year’s celebration of Eid-El Fitr.

Shaibu, in his Eid-El Fitr message personally signed by him, enjoined Muslim faithful and indeed, all Nigerians, both home and in the diaspora to have faith in the emergence of a new Nigeria, despite its present challenges.

“Nigeria is the only country we have. The Almighty God did not make a mistake by bringing us together, in spite of our diverse, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We can make Nigeria work to become the country of our collective dreams, if we unite to confront our present challenges as a people,” Shaibu said.

“That you have successfully completed the Ramadan fast and celebrating Eid-El Fitr is a testimonial that for us as a nation to fulfill our God-given destiny and purpose, we must experience some pains in our quest for the emergence of a new Nigeria,” he said.

The Deputy Governor extended his love and felicitations to Muslims all over the world, while urging all to remain steadfast in prayers for Nigeria.

“Let me also extend my love and best wishes to all Muslims around the world. Our brothers and sisters in Nigeria must not slack in their prayers for a better and prosperous country,” Shaibu said.

“For us in Edo, we must imbibe and internalise the virtues of love, tolerance and good neighbourliness as exhibited by the Holy Prophet Mohammed(S.A.W).

“Permit me to wish you all happy and peaceful Eid-El Fitr celebration, having faith and belief in Almighty God that our tomorrow as a great people shall be better than today,” he said.
