It is no longer news that the Delta State Liaison office in Lagos has moved from its original premises to a nearby property in Oyin-Jolayemi, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The movement proper is pending when work at the new office is completed as promised by the Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, who said the office would get at least two or three flats from the apartment allocated to the state government.

Speaking in an interview with Mr Omoefe Thomas, who hails from Isoko North, he narrated how he came a week earlier to get his certificate of state of origin done, but was not attended to as he met the staff moving to the new site.

Thomas said he was not aware the office had been relocated as there was no publication on the movement, either online or in the Pointer Newspaper.

He urged the management of the office to always put up a notice, concerning any new development, adding that he was not happy that he could not be attended to.

“Lagos is not a place to move without planning ahead,” he lamented, even as he expressed the relief that the new office was closeby.

In a similar development, Mr. Godwin Chukwudi, narrated his ordeal, locating the Delta State Liaison Office in Lagos.

Chukwudi, who hails from Ukwuani Local Government Area, but resides in Badagry, Lagos State, said it was not easy for him to travel from far away Badagry to Victoria Island.

Chukwudi gave detailed explanation of how he came to the office (being his first visit) with so much stress because he had to ask a lot of questions on his way on how to locate the office, only to get there and was told it had been relocated.

“It wasn’t too pleasant, hearing that,” Chukwudi said, but was comforted with the knowledge of the closeness of the relocated office.

He pleaded with the Delta State Government to make the new office conducive for service delivery and comfort of people seeking such services.

He however thanked the Delta State Government for the new expansive office, adding that the new look would not only boost the image of the state, but create an avenue for more revenues for it.
