The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Group A Leaders Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, on Saturday extended their unbeaten run in the current season to thirteen after coming from behind to hold visiting Kwara Utd of Ilorin to a 1-1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Deputy Echeta delivered when his professional services were needed most, as he did not waste time firing a low drive which sneaked in to tie the game which coach Kabiru Dogo side thought was theirs; taking their pound of flesh.

The Week13 fixture kicked of with the hosts firing from all cylinders in their brilliant attempt to quickly unsettle their highly experienced visitors who were not ready to accept another defeat. They suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of the Benin Arsenals before their home fans in the first round encounter.

Alao Muhammed had put the Harmony Boys in front in the 67th minute after a well taken free kick near Insurance FC Arch.

Though, Insurance FC remain invisible in the current season but are yet to get a convincing three points in any of their four games played so far in the second round of the league.

The group A Leaders still enjoy their group leadership with 27 points and will be guests to Remo Stars in week 14 fixtures at Ikenne which will also be hosting the Under-15 NPFL- LaLiga Promise same week.

The Benin Arsenals started the second round action with a 1-1 draw at Enyimba International FC and returned to Benin to record another 1-1 draw with Akwa Utd before going to Plateau Utd to get similar scoreline result in week 12

Bendel Insurance FC are the only team that has not tasted defeat in the current football season and have continued to show their determination to finish the season well.

Insurance shocked Akwa United in the current season’s opener in Uyo with two unreplied goals from Imade Osarenkhoe and Sarki Ismael and have since remained unbeaten after thirteen games.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu watched the match live at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium where the governor gave out about 100 Insurance FC jerseys to their fans in appreciation of the support the club has enjoyed from the fans.
