It promises to be football extravaganza at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun state as the NPFL-Laliga U-15 Promise League action begins with defending champions Remo Stars taking on Lobi Stars in the curtain raiser game on Thursday.

Preceding Remo Stars and Lobi Stars opening match, is the opening ceremony of the tournament which is scheduled to hold at the same stadium, begining from 4:00 PM.

According to the programme of events, media Pally and presentation of certificates to coaches is scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance FC Feeders team is fully ready for the tournament after getting a clean bill of health to participate after scaling through in the screening exercise conducted by the league body. The screening exercise was aimed at checkmating age cheats.

Coach Stanley Osazee had his 23-Man team, Young Insurance cleared by the Gbenga Afolabi led NPFL screening committee among others who also scaled through the process.

The criteria used in the screening exercise, according to screening committee, included birth certificates, current school result and physical appearance.

Bendel Insurance Feeders will know their first opponents in group C on Thursday.

The 20 NPFL clubs’ junior teams are paired into four groups as follow:

Group A: Abia Warriors, Akwa Utd, Doma Utd, Kwara Utd and Shooting Stars.

Group B: Bayelsa Utd, El-Kanemi Warriors, Enyimba FC, Lobi Stars and Remo Stars.

Group C: Bendel Insurance FC, Gombe Utd, Nasarawa Utd, Rangers Intl and Sunshine Stars

Group D: Dakkada FC, Niger Tornadoes, Plateau Utd, Rivers Utd and Wikki Tourists.
