Super Eagles striker and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been included in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.

According to CompleteSports, the Team of the Week was compiled and published on whoscored.com’s Twitter handle on Friday.

Recall that Victor Osimhen has been ranked fourth best player in this season’s UEFA Champions League. The ranking was compiled and published on Sky Sports Premier League Twitter handle.

Osimhen is also one of five Napoli stars who made the 10 best players list in this season’s competition.

Osimhen returned from injury, was on target and scored a late goal in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against AC Milan at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Tuesday night in the Champions League quarter-final second leg tie.

Notwithstanding, Osimhen’s goal was a mere consolation for Napoli, and was not enough as Napoli exited the competition while Milan progressed into the semi-finals on 2-1 aggregate.

Osimhen equalled the most goals by a Nigerian player in a single UEFA Champions League season after netting in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday.

Osimhen scored five goals in six appearances for the Partenopei in the Champions League this season.

The 24-year-old now shared the record with former Inter Milan striker, Obafemi Martins.

Martins scored five goals for the Nerazzurri in the 2004/05 season.

Perhaps Osimhen could have scored more goals in the competition this season if not for injuries which limited his appearance.

His teammate, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, was also named in the Team of the Week.

He still tops Serie A scoring chart with 21 goals from 24 league fixtures and has provided five assists.

Napoli will now shift their attention to the league following their elimination from the Champions League.
Luciano Spalletti’s side have a 14- point lead over second-placed Lazio with eight games remaining in the campaign.

Napoli return to action in the Serie A against Juventus on Sunday.
