Spokesperson of Delta State Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has again predicted that the incoming governor of the state, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, would for the second time teach the former candidate of opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, another bitter political lesson should he decide to run in 2027 under any political party.

Oghenesivbe made the assertion on Wednesday, saying that Senator Agege won in four local government areas because of his crude electioneering malpractices, coupled with the unfortunate anti-party activities of some greedy members and chieftains of the PDP, who are currently facing diverse disciplinary actions through credible organs of the party.

“They are miles apart in multifaceted considerations, and Oborevwori is far ahead of Agege in terms of visionary leadership, positive charisma, competence, integrity, popularity, et al,” Oghenesivbe said.

“Agege lacks good conscience, morally bankrupt, no iota of truth in him, no integrity, not reliable, not dependable, criminally minded, cannot be trusted, dubious to a fault and spiritually a deviant,” he said.

The Delta PDP campaign council mouthpiece said that the incoming governor’s victory was celebrated widely across the state, a strong indication that he won the governorship election convincingly, due to his unblemished integrity, humility, simplicity, competence, street credibility and popularity.

Oghenesivbe said PDP’s victory was widely accepted in the state, celebrated by majority of the people, as well as some patriotic governorship candidates of opposition parties, including Chief Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Engr Goodnews Goodman Agbi of NNPP and several others, who paid congratulatory visit to Oborevwori and pledged their support for the incoming administration in the state.

Oghenesivbe, who is a member of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management of Nigeria, said that in advanced democracies such as United States of America, United Kingdom, Germany and others, a criminally-minded element in the person of Senator Omo-Agege, who committed the grave criminal offence of forgery and perjury, and for which he was debarred from practicing Law in the State of California in the USA, ought to be languishing in jail for stealing mace in broad daylight at the National Assembly.

He berated the APC national government under President Muhammadu Buhari for shamelessly compensating Senator Ovie Omo-Agege with the position of Deputy Senate President, thereby erroneously making him a superstar in Nigeria, and in the same token knowingly set a bad precedence for future generations by directly or indirectly rewarding an act of criminality and unpatriotic gross misconduct.

“Mace rustling is a grave criminal offence wherein Senator Agege was clearly and directly linked to the ‘mens rea and actus reus’ of the act, but the Buhari administration and APC national government unfortunately decided to unscrupulously compensate him for his odious crime by installing him as Nigeria’s DSP. Too bad,” he said.

He assured that he would continue to support Oborevwori (his personal friend of over 43 years), saying that he strongly believes in the Delta Governor-Elect’s capabilities, integrity, competence, humility, cordiality in friendship, his love for Delta, and genuine desire to serve society and humanity.
