Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Thursday led a team of the World Health Organization, WHO, on a road show to celebrate 75 years of partnership with government.

Speaking on behalf of the state governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, Shaibu congratulated the global health body for its sterling performance over the years.

He said: “It is fulfilling as we all celebrate WHO today for their 75 years of service to humanity and to a prosperous healthy nation.

“Though, there has been a lot of turbulence, but WHO has been able to sustain the aims of its establishment. As the ‘police’ of health in the world, they have indeed done very well even in the midst of pandemics.

“For us as a state, we are happy with the partnership with WHO towards our health reforms over the years. Their partnership has ensured the eradication of polio, the fight against Covid-19 and Lassa fever.
