Despite the directive of Governor Okowa of Delta State to revenue agents to stop the sales of tickets to tricycle operators and motorcycle riders, tickets agents in Ubeji and the Express Junction in Warri South Local Government Area of the state have continued the sales of the tickets.

Governor Okowa had stopped the collection of levies from tricycle operators and motorcycle riders in the state under any guise, until the review of existing levies are harmonised.

Speaking with one of the agents who pleaded anonymity, said the tickets they were selling were community tickets and had nothing to do with the state government.

Joseph, an okada rider, said that they heard that the state government had stopped sales of tickets by agents, but wondered why Ubeji and Ekpan agents were still selling tickets everyday.

Also at the Ekpan Junction, the Chairman of tricycle operators at the park, Festus Ovie, said that the collection of levies and sales of tickets to tricycle operators and motorcycle riders was illegal, though.

Festus added that, however they had no right to fight with the leadership of the community because the tickets being sold were mostly issued to them by the top shots in the community who could not be challenged.
