A petrol-laden tanker crushed an okada rider to death at the Shagholor Round-About in Warri, Delta State .
According to an eyewitness, Moses Evwvio, said the motorcycle rider was carrying two young girls when he was hit by a Lexus jeep, adding that the girls where lucky enough to have jumped from the bike while the rider fell to the ground and his head crushed by the moving tanker.
He added that the driver was not aware that someone was underneath the tanker.
Another eyewitness, a bread seller, who pleaded anonymity, said the bike would not have fallen, if the two girls had not jumped off when the jeep brushed the motorbike from the side, lamenting that the bike rider lost his balance and landed on the ground because of the passengers and was crushed to death by the moving tanker.
According to her, it was painful that the tanker driver was not even aware that he killed someone, until he was chased to the Jeddo Junction and stopped by sympathisers.
A tricycle operator, who gave his name as Peter, attributed the accident to overloading by the crushed motorcycle rider, claiming that the bike rider would have regained his balance if he had carried the normal one passenger allowed.
