The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the Akwa Ibom International Stadium for the Super Eagles’ next home game in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

CAF released a list of stadia across the continent that can host matchday five games in the qualifiers on Monday, Daily Post reports.

Recall that Nigeria’s Super Eagles played their two previous home matches in the qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The Super Eagles next game in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers is an away face off with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on June 18.

Sierra Leone will host the Super Eagles at a neutral venue in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in June after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) failed to approve any of the country’s stadia.

The Leone Stars have played all their home games in the qualifiers in Morocco.
