Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, has formally admitted 15,000 new students for the 2022/2023 academic session. The rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Umar, gave the figure at the institution’s 41st matriculation ceremony.

While congratulating the newly admitted students for being among the lucky ones, he said “You are privileged to be among the 15,000 students taking the oath of matriculation today out of the 30,000 that chose the polytechnic.

“As you continue in your academic sojourn in the polytechnic, I wish you the best.

“Once again, on behalf of the governing council and management of the polytechnic, I congratulate and welcome you to Auchi Polytechnic; one of the highly sought after institutions in Nigeria,” Umar said.

Dr. Umar warned the new students against involvement in cultism, examination malpractice and other vices that would be inimical to their academic pursuit.

“Do not be involved in any form of cheating or examination misconduct. If you are caught violating examination rules, you can be rusticated or expelled from the polytechnic,” he said.

The rector however enjoined the students to make the best use of the institution’s facilities to become well-grounded and employable after graduation.

He reiterated that the Institution frowned at indecent dressing, adding that the school Dressing Code Committee had been set up to ensure that students comply with the approved dress code of the polytechnic.

Dr. Umar restated the polytechnic commitment to providing an enabling environment for students to excel and to ensure uninterrupted academic calendar.

The rector further disclosed that the institution had introduced 19 new programmes to take off next session.

He, however, pledged his commitment to restoring the glory of Auchi Polytechnic as one of the foremost polytechnics in Nigeria
