Members of the Igbodo Development Union (IDU), United Kingdom (UK) Branch, have donated two new motorcycles to the vigilante group in Igbodo Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Making the donation at the Palace of Obi of Igbodo, Mr. Stephen Maxwell commended the Obi of Igbodo, HRM Ikechukwu Osedume for his leadership qualities which he said were not only outstanding but had attracted development to the community.

According to Mr. Maxwell, the donation of the two motorbikes became necessary to curb criminal activities in the locality and environs.

He disclosed that the gesture would not be the last from the group, urging the vigilante not to relent in their resolve to fight crime and vices.

“The idea we believe will enable you to patrol areas where cars cannot get to and to ensure quick response to emergencies,” he stated.

In his remarks, Obi Osedume, represented by Mr. Peter Igah, appreciated members of IDU in the UK for their support for the wellbeing of the people.

According to him, this gesture would go a long way to curbing the menace of insecurity in the community.

While charging members of the security outfit to put the motorcycles into judicious use, he encouraged other well-to-do sons and daughters of the kingdom to emulate the donors to make the community a better place for all.

The Chairman of the Igbodo Vigilante, Pastor Celestine Ofuokwu, expressed appreciation to members of IDU, pledging that the vigilante would not disappoint the people.
