The Edo State Government has commenced the onboarding of 264 officers recruited/absorbed into the civil/public service as part of efforts to acquaint workers with the rules guiding the civil service.

Speaking during the onboarding programme, the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq told participants that the onboarding was being done to intimate them with the workings of the state’s civil/public service, its rules of engagement and work ethics.

While congratulating them for their employment, the Head of Service advised them to take their jobs seriously by applying themselves diligently to assigned duties.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary (General Services) Office of the Head of Service. Pricilia Aiziegbemhin, the Head of Service also charged the participants to contribute their quotas to the state government’s development agenda and initiative encapsulated in the government’s vision.

Thanking the state government for its commitment to intellectual resource development initiatives of which the onboarding constitutes an integral part, the HOS said the government of Governor Godwin Obaseki has continually put in place different measures to ensure the optimal performance of civil/public servants.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Human Resource Development, George Igberase gave an overview of the Edo State Government and listed the core values of the civil and public service to include Stewardship, truth, engagement and professionalism.

He urged the participants drawn from different Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) and those absorbed into the service to apply themselves to these values.
