…relieves Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants of appointments

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has dissolved the State Executive Council, expressing appreciation to members of the council for their service to the government and people of the state.

The governor said the dissolution of the council takes immediate effect, according to a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media Projects to the governor, Crusoe Osagie and dated May 3, 2023.

The state’s cabinet was dissolved during the Weekly Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

The governor also said that, beginning from today, all Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) have been relieved of their appointments.

Also, the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq., in a follow-up Special Announcement, informed the general public of the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Obaseki, “with immediate effect”.

Ogie said all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants have also been relieved of their appointments, informing the affected appointees that “all outstanding claims and entitlements shall be defrayed forthwith”.

“Edo State Government hereby expresses appreciation to the outgoing appointees for their service to the State and wishes them well in their future endeavours,” he said.
