The Edo State Government through John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) has concluded a data analysis and interpretation training program as part of measures to sustain the ongoing institutional reforms in the state’s civil and public service.
The training aimed to improve public servants’ analytical skills and equip them with the necessary tools to make data-driven decisions.
The training was held at John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) and ICTA complex in Benin City.
Managing Director of JOOPSA, Imuwahen Ajoonu, said that in the world of artificial intelligence, data analysis, and interpretation training are essential to accelerate human capacity development across the public service ecosystem.
She said that the Obaseki-led administration has been at the forefront of efforts to promote data-driven decision-making in the state, recognizing the importance of data analysis and interpretation in achieving the goals of Making Edo Great Again (MEGA) Agenda.
She added that the successful conclusion of the data analysis and interpretation training program at JOOPSA is a testament to the state government’s commitment to equipping its workforce with the necessary skills for data-driven decision-making.
According to Mr. Precious Ekome; “Data analysis in Excel is not all about the use of formulas, it is about how well you can use the formulas and functions in service delivery.”
He urged the trainees to apply the knowledge acquired for service delivery in the various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The training was conducted by seasoned data analysis and interpretation experts who provided practical and hands-on sessions to ensure that participants were adequately equipped to apply the skills learned in their respective roles.
Participants in the program included senior government officials, departmental heads, and frontline staff from various government agencies across the state.
