The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has disassociated itself from a fake publication being circulated on some social media platforms purportedly from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission encouraging the public to register for the 2023 pilgrimage.

The said publication, according to the Commission, with the title: “Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Jerusalem 2023 Sponsorship Scheme”, is urging the public to apply for the 2023 free Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Jerusalem sponsorship scheme, claiming that the Commission is providing over 100 thousand Jerusalem slot to everyone willing to travel to Jerusalem this year without paying money.

The statement stated that the publication for free pilgrimage slots is fake and non-existent, adding that there is no such scheme by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.

The Commission therefore dissociates itself from such fake and overbearing publication which has nothing to do with the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.

The Commission advises the general public to be circumspect and ensure they follow the right process in seeking to participate in our pilgrimage programmes to Israel, Jordan, or Rome, they should visit our website- http://ncpc.gov.ng for information about the Commission.”

While advising the general public to disregard the fake publication and shun anyone that might defraud them of their hard-earned money, the Commission said the fraudsters who are behind the misleading information have been reported to the security agencies for investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.
