Late Helen Okunbo, who died at the age of 86 years, is the mother of late Captain Hosa Okunbo and was survived by six children and 32 grandchildren.

In his sermon titled, ‘Victory over Death’ and reading from 1 Cor. 15:51-58, the General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church of God Mission Worldwide, Apostle Dr. Godspower Ogbonwan, said nothing is more terrifying than death.

He noted that despite the terrifying nature of death, those that are in Christ have conquered death because Jesus died for us to ensure we have life more abundantly.

Apostle Ogbonwan admonished, “Care about your life and care about what people would say about your life when you are no more. Ensure you live your life well to affect the people as mama has lived well to affect lives positively as she is resting now in the bosom of God Almighty.”

Other guests at the event include representative of the House of Igbinedion, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Igbinedion, and former governorship aspirant and Senior Pastor, Redeem Christian Church of God, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, amongst others.
