Hearing on the petition filed by presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has been deferred up until Wednesday, May 10, by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).

The Tribunal began its hearing on the petitions filed by aggrieved presidential candidates on Monday.

The Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Haruna Tsammani, also dismissed the petition of the Action Alliance (AA) filed against the electoral victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

The Tribunal dismissed the petition after it was withdrawn by the petitioner on Monday.

Counsel to the petitioner, Oba Maduabuchi, SAN, withdrew the petition and prayed the court to dismiss same.

Defendants in the petition did not object to the prayer of the petitioner, a reason the Tribunal dismissed the petition.
