Nigeria’s Super Eagles will open camp on the 11th of June in Lagos to train before their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying fixture against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

The Super Eagles could qualify for the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire if they defeat the Leone Stars. They need just one win from their last two games in the qualifiers for next year’s Nations Cup. They already picked nine points from their first four games, and just three points would see them through, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles’ battle against Sierra Leone is at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday, the 18th of June.

According to Naija Footballers, ahead of the fixture, Nigeria’s camp will be opened on Sunday, 11th of June. They will converge in Lagos, where they will train at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Onikan.

Daily Post reports that the SKD stadium has an artificial turf, so the Nigeria Football Federation has made arrangements for the team to train at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan which has a similar playing surface.

When both teams met in the reverse fixture last June, the Super Eagles had to come back from a goal down to win 2-1. However, Sierra Leone are condemned to win this time, as a loss could knock them out of the race for the Nations Cup ticket.

Coach Jose Peseiro is yet to reveal his squad list for the game.
