Following the meeting between Chelsea and Inter Milan representatives in London, Chelsea have been completely shut out of the race for Andre Onana.

Since his move from Dutch giants Ajax on a free transfer last season, the Cameroonian shot stopper has proven to be an asset, with great performances for Inter Milan in the Serie A, Coppa Italia and most recently in their 1-0 loss in the champions league finals against Manchester City, which has seen many clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona pick interest in him.

Chelsea were considered to be the favourites as they have a good relationship with Inter Milan, and are kin on signing Onana as an upgrade on Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga. But reports from London’sFirst.com, indicates that Chelsea and Inter Milan representatives could not reach an agreement which has led to the a breakdown of the deal.

According to reports from Italy 24 Press News, Internazionale value Onana at €70million, and will only sell to Chelsea if they can secure Chelsea’s defender Koulibaly, and another loan spell for Romelu Lukaku. From the looks of things, Chelsea do not agree with this arrangement, which may see their dreams of bringing Andre Onana to Stanford Bridge collaspe.

Manchester United are now the favorites according to reports as Onana has a good relationship with Manchester United coach Eric Tenhag who he worked with for over five years at Ajax.

Andre Onana is known to be very comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back which makes him perfectly suited to Tenhag’s style of play.

Manchester United are still in the process of signing Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount for who they presented a bid of 40m which was turned down by chelsea as they want €80million for the player.

According to Sky Sports, Man United will tender another bid for the 24year old, but nothing close to €80million as the player has just one year left on his contract.
