… Oredo Girls Grammar School outshines 204 schools to clinch 1st position.
In a bid to stall the activities of wickedness and decadence in secondary schools in Edo State, the Teens/Youth Ministry of Christ Embassy Benin Zone 1 organized the 6th edition of the Fire For Your Future Program on Friday, June 2, 2023.
The Program which was preceded by an Essay contest on the topic: IMPACT OF THE RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, TEEVO ON TEENAGERS had 205 schools represented in the grand finale which was held at the LoveWorld City, Km 12, Benin Sapele Road, Obe, Benin City, Edo State.
The host and Highly Esteemed Zonal Pastor of Christ Embassy Benin Zone 1, Pastor Moses Olayemi, admonished teenagers on the importance of living their lives for God and standing up as symbols of light in their schools.
Several teenagers in their thousands were led to salvation, and many others were delivered from the torment of darkness in a special prayer segment.
The event culminated in the top schools engaging in a debate contest in defense of their Essays. All schools represented were presented with a certificate of participation by the event organizers.
After a keenly contested event, the top schools were announced from positions 10 to 4 securing a cash sum of 100,000 naira a piece. Schools in this category include:
10th – Touch Bearers Academy (70%)
9th – Wilbest Education Centre (71%)
8th – Imaguero Senior Secondary School ( 71.5%)
7th – UNIFAC Group of Schools (71.6%)
6th – Cradle High School (72.9%)
5th – Candid Success Education Centre (73.3%)
4th – Henson Demonstration School (73.5%)
The top 3 schools in this competition were further determined and recognized for their exceptional outing during the program. The representatives of these schools were similarly invited to receive their cash awards of 200,000, 300,000 and 500,000 Naira for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place respectively on behalf of their schools.
3rd position with 73.8% – Army Day Senior Secondary School
2nd position with 79.1% – Legend Preparatory School
1st position with 88% – Oredo Girls Grammar School.
The event concluded in high spirits and great fulfillment for all students as the Highly Esteemed Zonal Pastor congratulated all award winners in this competition.
While celebrating the winners, Oredo Girls Grammar School, a government-owned secondary school in Benin City, Pastor Moses Olayemi commended the teachers and principal of the school for their excellent performance; “I actually thought it was a private school, but for me to know that it is Oredo Girls Grammar School, I mean, this is an amazing work the teachers are doing.
“Thank you for doing so well, and carrying the flag for 2023 Fire For Your Future,” Pastor Moses Olayemi remarked.
Furthermore, Pastor Moses Olayemi thanked all those who contributed to sponsoring all aspects of the event, as well as the students, teachers and principals of the various schools that participated.
He concluded the ceremony by appreciating the President of the LoveWorld Nation, Rev Dr. Chris Oyakhilome for the opportunity given to Christ Embassy Benin Zone 1 to bless lives.
