Click Magic, in collaboration with EdoJobs and Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), on Wednesday held a free training session tagged “Capacity Building Training for Filmmakers” targeting upcoming actors, crew and content creators.

The event, which took place at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City, was facilitated by professionals in the different areas of film-making. They include Pst Mike Omeregbe, an actor/educationist; Eunice Omoregie, a filmmaker; Peter Agoni, a cinematographer; Rex Charles, Director, Training and Programmes at Edojobs, and Jeremiah Onoge, a move director and CEO, Click Magic.

Speaking to The Nigerian Observer, Onoge, who was the host of the event which was free entry and open to anyone who was in the line of film making and content creation, said it was his organization’s way of giving back to the society.

“Basically, it’s like a giveback to the society to see how we can help the content creators and filmmakers with knowledge,” Onoge said.

“We are doing this together to impact them on how to go about their profession. The training programme is an avenue for actors to network with movie directors, filmmakers, and producers who may be in need of their services,” he said.

Asked about the challenges he faced putting together the event, Onoge said he only had issues with participants’ registration for the event.

“There are no challenges involved in the organization of this training; the only challenge faced was the registration process of the participants,” he said.

Some of the participants who spoke to The Nigerian Observer on the sidelines of the training expressed gratitude to the organisers for giving them the opportunity to experience the event. They also had many expectations from the training.

Efe Gideon, a content creator and upcoming actor, said he attended the event with the aim of learning about the creative industry and he looked forward to gaining more knowledge about acting and ways to be more active in the content creation space.

“I’m here to build on my capacity in content making. I expect to improve on my techniques and strategies in my content creation and also ways which I can put them out,” said another participant, Investor Efosa.

Another participant, who identified herself simply as Jennifer, an actor, said she attended the event to improve on her acting skills.
